Jack Schmitz, CLU, ChFC, CASL
Jack has been a brokerage general agent with DI+LTC (formerly known at Bay Area Disability) for over 30 years. His expertise in Long-Term Care developed the same time Congress was beginning to address this need in the early 1990s. He received his CLU, ChFC, and CASL from the American College over the course of his career and was the recipient of the International DI Society 2015 W. Harold Petersen Lifetime Achievement Award.
He has led several local associations, to include the Marin chapter of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors and the North Bay Society of Financial Service Professionals. He is the Northern California representative and a Past-President of The Plus Group – America’s Premiere DI+LTC Marketing organization. www.plusgroupus.com.
Diana started in the business at Firemen’s Fund Insurance Co. where she was introduced to underwriting Long Term Disability. She joined DI+LTC in 1983 shortly after our move from San Francisco to San Rafael.
Diana might be the most experienced DI and LTC field underwriter in the U.S. She has processed thousands of cases for dozens of carriers and their appointed brokers. She has seen it all and is quick to adapt to new technology and requirements.
One part teacher, one part diplomat, and one part psychologist, Diana has a way of working with agents and underwriters that is both professional and ingratiating.
Diana enjoys reading, hiking, and visiting the wine country, museums, and churches.
Maxwell Schmitz, MSFS
Max started at DI+LTC in 2009. He has become a marketing and contract expert after familiarizing himself on the back-end of the DI sales process in his first few years. Max is the co-author of “The Questions and Answers on Disability Insurance Workbook” and has been a frequent speaker at several association events across the Bay Area.
He earned his Master’s degree in Financial Services through the American College, and is also the immediate Past-President of NAIFA-Marin.
Patrick joined DI+LTC Insurance Services in 2012, serving as Technical Marketing Manager, in support of agents, brokers, and advisors, providing proposals and all the necessary forms and marketing materials, as well as developing additional ideas and concepts to make understanding DI and LTC products easier than it should be.
Patrick is persistent in providing exceptional service. When we were all asked one day to treat each person we came in contact with as “the most important person in the world,” Patrick’s co-workers expressed that “(he) already does that.”
Patrick received a B.A. degree in International Studies from U.C. San Diego.
Laura rejoined DI+LTC part-time in 2014, serving a new role as our Customer Experience Admin. She helps incoming callers find the right resource for their case inquiries. Laura also supports our effort to digitize all our case file documentation for past and present cases. She has been a long-time contributor to the Giant Steps Therapeutic Equestrian Center in Petaluma and is always a ray of light to those around her.
Emma earned her BA in Literature: Creative Writing from University of California, Santa Cruz, in 2013. She joined the family business in 2015 to contribute her design, digital marketing, and writing skills to the team. Working from home in Truckee, CA, Emma is an outdoor enthusiast who also enjoys crafting, nerding out about beer, and caring for her two crazy mutts.
